“My name is Holly Cruz, and I’m running to be your Sumner County School Board Representative for District 9.”

Holly is a mother, a daughter, a sister, a friend, and an experienced educator who wants to give back to our community. She grew up with two wonderfully autistic brothers who inspired her to work with students, and she strongly believes in the transformative power of education.

Holly’s family relocated to Sumner County in 2017 and for the past six years has been building lifelong connections - from friendships with students and parents at Benny Bills Elementary School to meeting people from across the county through Gallatin Civic Center, the Lady Rangers, and Unlimited Potential.

“As a mom of two SCS students, I truly believe that my family’s community is what it is BECAUSE of the school system. Omar and I are deeply thankful for the opportunity to raise our girls right here in District 9. I want to celebrate the diversity in Sumner County, and I believe we can all find common ground when it comes to our students’ success. My vision is to work collaboratively with all of YOU to support our schools to be the best in the state!”

Together, we want:

  • A school community where our children are safe, loved, and seen for who they are.

  • A school community where our children are successful but also challenged in the classroom.

  • A school community that supports our school staff and recognizes the importance of working together to educate and raise students who are kind and community driven.

  • A school community based in respect.

Stay Up-To-Date with Holly.
